TOUR ITINERARY
There is a maximum of 24 people plus guide and driver.
The meals that are included on the tour are specified for each date: Breakfast (B) and Lunch (L).
DAY 1 - Tuesday, Oct. 25
We meet the bus at First United Methodist Church in Salem, VA at 8:30 a.m. You may leave your car in the parking lot. We will stop for lunch in Charleston, West Virginia. After lunch, we will go to First Presbyterian Church in Charleston where Aaron will give a 30-minute concert on the two pipe organs in the sanctuary. It is rare for a church to have two fine instruments in the same space. Music will be whatever tourists request --- stump the organist.
If organ specs mean anything to you, information can be found at

Departing the hotel at 9:30 a.m., we travel 30 miles north to the Ark Encounter. The Ark Encounter features a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old. Lunch is included. Note that dinner will be a bit early. Be back on the bus at 4:00 p.m. https://arkencounter.com

DAY 3 – Thursday, Oct. 27 (B)
We depart the hotel at 8:45 a.m., and a 10-minute drive south finds us at the Kentucky Horse Park. Considered a treasure in the state of Kentucky and unlike any other facility in the world, since 1978, the Kentucky Horse Park’s mission has been to celebrate our relationship with the horse through education, exhibition, engagement, and competition. Make sure to catch the horse drawn trolley at 10:00 a.m., the hall of champions show at 11:00 a.m., and the parade of breeds show at 1:00 p.m. Owned and operated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the park welcomes over 500,000 visitors a year. Lunch is on your own within the park. https://kyhorsepark.com
Be back on the bus at 2:00 p.m. to head for the Kentucky State Capitol where we have a guided tour at 3:00 p.m. Kentucky's Capitol is the fourth permanent building since statehood in 1792. It was built to replace the earlier 1830 capitol, still standing in downtown Frankfort, which had become inadequate to accommodate the growing state government. A long and bitter quarrel among Louisville, Lexington and Frankfort over which city should be Kentucky's Capital finally ended in 1904, when the legislature voted to spend one million dollars for a new capitol to replace the 1830 capitol on the old public square in downtown Frankfort. The architect's design was far too immense for the square, so the present site in south Frankfort was chosen instead. https://capitol.ky.gov

DAY 4 – Friday, Oct. 28 (B)
Today, we depart the hotel at 9:00 a.m. Our first stop is the Mary Todd Lincoln House, the family home of 16th president Abraham Lincoln. Mary Lincoln was sophisticated, educated, and versed in politics. On the surface, her success in the White House seemed assured. Yet, few women in American history have endured as much controversy and tragedy. www.mtlhouse.org
