The meals included on the tour are specified for each date: Breakfast (B), Lunch (L), and Dinner (D). 


This is a small group tour with a maximum size of 16 people plus guide(s).


Day 1 - Tuesday, May 9 Arrive in Lima & Transfer to Hotel

We fly to Peru. Upon arrival at the Lima airport, we transfer to our hotel.

Day 2 - Wednesday, May 10 Private Lima City Tour (B)

We meet our local guide and begin with a half day tour through Lima’s modern districts, including Miraflores and San Isidro. We will also stop at the Parque del Amor overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the 4th century Huaca Pucllana. Next, continue to the UNESCO-recognized Historic Center, stopping at Plaza San Martin with its old mansions and balconies and then at the Plaza de Armas to see the Presidential Palace and the Lima Cathedral.  We will also enter the San Francisco church and visit the catacombs. After the tour, spend the rest of the day exploring Miraflores at your leisure.

Day 3 - Thursday, May 11 Fly to Puerto Maldonado & Transfer to Refugio Amazonas (B, L, D)

Catch our flight to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the port in the native community of Infierno for a boat ride to your Amazon lodge. Upon arrival, naturalist guides will teach us the basics for how to get around the rainforest and stay safe. Following dinner, you can explore your surroundings during a night walk where you may be lucky to catch some nocturnal creatures in their habitat.

Day 4 - Friday, May 12 Refugio Amazonas Activities (B, L, D)

Wake up for a bright and refreshing day in the jungle. An abundance of possibilities await, like watching the sunrise from a canopy tower, Amazon birdwatching, or visiting the colorful macaw clay lick where you get a front row seat to an abundance of tropical birds, or even a trek to the calm and picturesque oxbow lakes. For some hands-on fun, you can discover a new species or do some jungle mountain biking.

Day 5 - Saturday, May 13 Refugio Amazonas Activities (B, L, D)

Another day in paradise begins. After our energizing breakfast, take to the forest yet again for a visit to the Medical Plants Trail and discover the Amazon's health secrets. Or, head over to the Brazil nut trail and camp, where you can see the towering Brazil nut trees and even sample their natural, sustainably-harvested treats. After a day spent exploring the Amazon jungle’s incredible beauty, do something a little different during the evening. As you relax at the lodge, your guides give us a taste of the lodge's rainforest initiatives. These Night Lectures enrich your experience and immerse you in fun, engaging stories and experiences.

Day 6 - Sunday, May 14 Departure from Puerto Maldonado & Fly to Cusco (B)

After a final breakfast at the lodge, board a boat for the journey back to Puerto Maldonado.

Upon arrival at the Cusco airport, meet our driver for a transfer to our hotel in the historic center. You have the rest of the afternoon to explore the city. Remember to take it easy on your first day at high altitude.

Day 7 - Monday, May 15 Private Cusco City Tour (B)

Our half day tour today will introduce us to the remarkable history of Cusco as visible in its monumental architecture, richly ornamented churches, and present-day Andean cultural practices.

Meet our guide and begin in the UNESCO-recognized historic center. Visit the majestic Cusco Cathedral and the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun). Then drive into the surrounding hillside to visit the site of Sacsayhuaman and, time permitting, other nearby archeological sites such as Qenko. Afterwards, we will be transferred back to our Cusco hotel.

Day 8 - Tuesday, May 16 Private Sacred Valley Tour & Train to Machu Picchu (B)

Meet our guide to begin an exploration of the Sacred Valley. Our private tour visits the concentric circle terraces of Moray which descend nearly 500 feet into the earth, the multi-hued salt pans of Maras, and the monolithic fortress ruins of Ollantaytambo. At the end of the tour, catch the train to Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu. On arrival, check in to our hotel, enjoy dinner, and get some rest before the next day’s adventure. The Sacred Valley weaves from Cusco to Machu Picchu.

Day 9 - Wednesday, May 17 Private Machu Picchu Tour & Return to Cusco (B)

Wake up early, transfer by shuttle bus to the ruins, and meet our guide for a memorable walk through the “lost city of the Incas.” Let yourself be swept away by the magical landscape that surrounds these important ruins. Capture some final photos and then return to Aguas Calientes to begin our return trip to Cusco. On arrival at the train station, we meet our driver for a transfer to our hotel.

Day 10 - Thursday, May 18 Departure from Cusco (B)

Enjoy a final breakfast at your Cusco hotel before going to the airport to fly home.


While changes to the tour are not likely, please realize that weather, site renovations, or other factors could keep the tour group from any given site or lodging choice.


TOUR COSTS

$4,500 (per person) for a double occupancy room and $5,740 (per person) for a single occupancy room


PAYMENTS

Deposit: $1,500 will secure your place on this tour. Please include your completed Registration Form with the deposit; Terms & Conditions and the Registration Form can be found at https://internationaltourco.com/important-documents


Final payment:  $3,000 (double occupancy); $4,240 (single occupancy) due 90 days before departure.
